Make Me As A Child (American NI-78-83) 1978

This eight-person male/female outfit creates some pleasant melodic homemade folk sounds as they sample gentle acoustic songs, mellow guitar/piano tracks and strummed folk-rock. Nice solemn minor-key presence shimmering through ‘To Each Of God’s Children’. I also enjoyed the stirring delicate acoustic moods within ‘Burnblebee Queen’ and ‘Autumn Song’. Other titles include ‘Pilgrims’, ‘Jesus (How’d I Ever Live Without Your Love)’, ‘Revelations’ and ‘Monday Afternoon (Walkin’ In The Sunset)’, the latter a moving piano instrumental. All eleven songs are originals. Has an appealing amateur warmth throughout, even if the lead singers aren’t always completely on key. Should find favor among fans of Ellis & Lynch and the like. Catholic I’m assuming since there’s a ‘Hail Mary’ song. Lovely artwork on the front cover. Custom album recorded at a Denver, Colorado studio.       (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition).

Thank you Ken for the front cover photo.  Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and the track list.
