Fresh Fruit (Manna Fest 7001) 1975

Mellow jangly sunshine California folkies somewhere between Suncast (without the studio gloss) and The Everlastin’ Living Jesus Music Concert. Five guys and one girl with warm harmonies and simple backing from acoustic guitar, bass and percussion. At their best when the rural vibes come out, like their cover of Country Faith’s ‘Two Roads’ that features a nice guitar break. Songs like ‘Family’s All Together’, ‘All’, ‘Temple Song’ and ‘Teach Us Dear Lord’ are fine examples of their gentle acoustic folk-rock style. Also a couple male solo performances with just guitar accompaniment, ‘Hey You’ and ‘I Must Seek Him’. The group met while attending Youth With A Mission’s School Of Evangelism in Switzerland. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Ken for the front cover photo and George for the rear photo and Donald for the track list.
