Songs For Worhip At The Benedictine Grange (no label, no #) 1980
Another stirring first-rate example of the melodic Catholic acoustic style, presented by a talented male/female group of six, with such instruments as guitars, flute, drums and bells. Fourteen original songs, with songwriting shared by members Kathleen Deignan and Evelyn Avoglia, both of whom have equally good solo lps worth seeking out. Beautiful soothing melodies, mostly in a minor key, sometimes touched with Elizabethan folk influences, other times with a moody hypnotic stillness. Deeply moving harmonies, mostly with the females in the lead. ‘This Is The Pasch’, ‘Offering Thanks And Praise’, ‘Bring Us To The Wedding Feast’, ‘Come And Share At Our Table’, ‘Everyday’, ‘Unless The Lord Builds The House’, ‘Nunc Dimittis’. Recorded at the Benedictine Grange in Redding, CT and The Rhyme Cellar in Stratford, CT.(The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition).
