Salt & Light (G-SL-100) 1975?

Passable~gospelly rock custom from four-guy two-girl Akron, Ohio band The lack of any guitar is a handicap, leaving piano and organ as the main instruments. Bass and percussion are in there pretty solid though. Took me a while to get used to the vocals, particularly the one gal with the somewhat operatic tendencies. Mostly spunky Godspell covers, along with ‘Spirit Of The Living God’, Sonlight’s ‘In Remembrance’ and a unique moody version of ‘One In The Spirit’. Closes with two original songs, ‘Don’t You Know He’s Coming’ and the rocking instrumental ‘A New Beginning’ where the organ sizzles and the drums get frantic. Similar to a lot of those Youth For Christ outfits on the FourMost label, although I’d say these folks are a bit better. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and track list.
