We Are One (Praise PRS 169) 1971 Canada *

Prior to recording under the name Salvation Air Force for the Myrrh label, Donnie and Michael Gossett joined Judy, Jeanne and Marisa for this family effort. We Are One is an uneven album marred by some hyper-traditional piano gospel material. Redemption, however, comes in the form of underground rockers like ‘Prepare My Heart’, the gloomy ‘Pass Me Not’, and a cover of Edwin Hawkins’ ‘Oh Happy Day’ 7 all featuring some sweet electric guitar leads. Ralph Carmichael’s ‘The Man’ and Andrae Crouch’s ‘I’ve Got Confidence’ don’t fare too badly either with their gospel-rock interpretation. Also a fine acoustic ballad ‘Introduction To A Friend’. Judy’s deep soulful voice is in the forefront on most of these. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and track list.
