The Hakamu ’72  (Tip Top LPS 2072) 1972? Canada *

No, it’s not Don Ho’s backing band, but sixteen Canadian youths and their primitive folk custom. Unfortunately the album has that blah generic teen folk sound that occurs when you have too many singers. I’ll give them half of a point for doing Jonathan & Charles’ ‘Fanatic’, but the real gem here is ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ done to the tune of The Beatles’ ‘All My Loving’ – can’t say I saw that one coming! Elsewhere it’s ‘Jordan’s River’, ‘Very Last Day’, ‘Hand In The Hand’, ‘Tell The World’, ‘Well, Well, Well’, etc.    (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and track list.
