To The King! (no label, no #) 1978
This particular Hosanna is the Virginia trio of Tim Seaman, Rowena Seaman and Hallet Hullinger. To The King! is a beautiful dreamy acoustic custom featuring gentle melodies adrift in floating 12-string guitar, piano, ethereal flute and soft moving male/female harmonies. Groups like Rising Hope, Patrnos and Suncast all excelled at this style, and Hosanna carries you away with the best of them via stirring songs like “Song Of Solomon’, ‘It’s Not A Hard Thing’ and ‘He Is Able’. Also a few playful country-folk moods ala Parable or Phoenix Sonshine on tracks like ‘Joy In My Soul’ and ‘I Will Rejoice’. Tim’s flute work is especially sharp throughout, sounding quite classical and frolicsome on ‘What Has My Life Been’. All ten songs written by Hallet. Petra’s Louie Weaver appears on drums. Produced by Monty Matthews of Holy Kiss Productions, though this is not on the actual Holy Kiss label. Superb watercolor cover painting of the city of Jerusalem. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you George for the front and rear cover photos and track list.
