His Sings (Freelance FLR-1004) 1972?
Mega-homemade record from nine-person co-ed group that gets a worthwhile garage edge going from time to time. Mostly Ralph Carmichael covers backed by a crude assemblage of acoustic guitar, electric bass, piano and drums, plus banjo on one song. Best tracks are the up-tempo songs where the percussion gets going, especially ‘Natural High’ with its big happenin’ extended drum solo. Piano tends to take over on the slower tracks, although I did like their rendition of Hair’s ‘Easy To Be Hard’. Students from Pacific Christian College in southern California.
