Permanent Change (Magic Christian 01) 1978?
According to the back cover Dick Hefner found Jesus in a jail cell in 1970 where he was spending time for selling LSD to an undercover cop. A few years later he picked up a guitar and recorded Permanent Change – a simple basic down-to-earth album of cheerful acoustic rock songs. Includes two of his own selections, plus covers of Randy Stonehill’s ‘I Love You’, Karen Lafferty’s ‘Bird In A Golden Sky’, Marijohn Wilkin’s ‘Speak Louder’, ‘He Looked Beyond My Fault’, ‘Weave Me The Sunshine’, etc, closing with the Maureen McGovern hit ‘The Morning After’. Hefner on 6 and 12-string, with four other musicians chipping in second guitar, maracas, congas, bass, piano and synthesizer. Primitive black and white cover illustration with full testimony detailed on the back. Hickory, North Carolina. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Ken for the front cover photo. And thank you Discogs for the track list. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo.
