His Love (Saddlerock 7062N8) 1976?

Relaxed easygoing acoustic sounds featuring Charlie’s stirring voice hovering over soft jangly 12-string guitar, gentle piano and background string synthesizer. Mostly originals written by Charlie, such as the beautiful opening ‘Where Do You Stand’. A touch of county on ‘Sweet Little Lady’, doo-wop on ‘His Name Means So Much’. Includes a version of the song ‘Troublemaker’ which has been covered by Willie Nelson, as well as Wilson McKinley on their On Stage lp. Charlie on guitars, aided by others on additional guitars, lead guitar, piano, bass, harmonica, strings, drums and backing vocals. A trifle smooth at times (the vocals primarily), but much better than you’d expect given the coattie-vest-wife-kids photo on the back. Custom record from Sand Springs, Oklahoma, in one of those standard sun/clouds kind of covers. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).
