The Joyous Celebration (Artronics Art 1771) 1971?
For their debut release this three-girl two-guy Seattle, Washington group performs simple and fairly ordinary folk covers of ‘Come The Day’, ‘Oh Happy Day’, ‘Put Your Hand’, ‘Two Hands’, ‘Mighty Clouds Of Joy’, etc, all backed by mellow easygoing harmonies, a couple guitars, bass, drums, tambourine and sometimes piano. Nice femme-vocal version of Jeremiah People’s ‘Canticles For Brothers Apart’. Says on the insert that they toured extensively, including Alaska, Hawaii and Japan. There are two different covers: one with a plain yellow background, the other with a very cool paste-on rainbow pattern. Member Bruce Anderson has a solo lp on this same Minnesota custom label (see entry). (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Ken for the two front cover photos. Thank you Discogs for the label and rear cover photos and for the track list.
