Do You Know? (Onesimus OM-100-01-77) 1977
Primitive amateur rural-edged acoustic rock from singer/guitarist with equally rough-cut imperfect vocals. Original songs humbly crafted with acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, electric piano, vibes and string synthesizer. Gets a Johnny Cash groove going on ‘Proverbs’, while ‘Childhood Dreams & Young Man’s Fancies’ and ‘He Shows Me The Way’ have sort of a Jimmy Buffett flavor (the music, not the vocals). Some notable electric guitar on ‘Runaway’. Nice acoustic mood to ‘Jesus Healed’. Crude but serviceable. Larry McHugh appears on rhythm guitar and bass. Home-made deal from Pitman, New Jersey. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Ken for the front cover photo, Thank you Discogs for the track list. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo.
