In Jesus Name (no label NR7630) 1976
This twosome’s three custom recordings contain some of the best examples of the melodic Catholic folk-rock style. Paul Knapp spent time as leader of a group called The Collarmen prior to becoming a priest at I St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Annapolis, Maryland George Brundick (female) was involved with a folk-rock outfit called The Dialectic Chord. Songwriting credits and guitar work are shared between the two as they collaborate to create a graceful sound that bears their own unique stamp, quickly becoming familiar and earning a place in your heart. The harmonies are exceptional – George in particular has a beautiful glowing voice. In Jesus Name features a warm blend of purely acoustic ballads and gently-flowing folk-rock, the latter often enhanced with bass, drums and keyboards (piano or electric piano). ‘River Of Joy’, ‘Child Of A Loving Father’, ‘Arise, Jerusalem’, ‘Jesus, Bread Of Life’ and ‘Each Time In My Life’ are some of the thirteen original songs presented here. A truly precious work. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).
