By Name I Have Called You (NALR CL-80-4) 1980
Gentle stirring melodies in an ultra-mellow setting of piano, acoustic guitar, flute and rich string orchestration, plus choir on a few songs. Works for me okay on the occasions when the classical angle wins out over the easy listening arrangements (which was not nearly as often as I would have liked). Not as compelling as John Michael Talbot’s Troubadour Of The Great King, but somewhat similar in style. ‘Man And Woman’ and ‘In Memory Of Jesus’ were rather pretty I thought. Produced by Paul Quinlan. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Ken for the front cover photo. Thank you Discogs for the track list. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo.
