Lift High The Banners Of Love (Franciscan Communications 9162 VC 5369) 1980 New Zealand

New Zealand’s version of The Fisherfolk? Better in my opinion. The group here is identified as The St. Paul Singers and they follow a similar pattern to mid-70’s Fisherfolk by switching back and forth from folk/praise ensemble tracks to delicate acoustic ballads with individual singers. Some of the latter are exceptionally lovely, reflecting the style of the many endearing British folk groups. Moody minor-key solemnities rich in feeling and emotion within a nice custom/home-made atmosphere. Pressed and distributed in the USA. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album yet.
