Living Free (Sweet Spirit $81008) 1979
Bradenton, Florida 5-guy 3-girl group doing folky soft rock with acoustic guitar, piano, harmonica, drums, and a trombone. Also some quiet electric guitar and synthesizer in there. Simple low-budget sound, very mellow and fragile. Doesn’t exactly embody greatness, but they do manage to connect at least a couple times, usually when the trombone (which takes away much of the folk edge) is set aside, as on ‘In The Country With God’ and ‘Because You Love Me’. Notable electric guitar and fuzz stirring things up on ‘Jesus Is Still Mine’. Opens with a beautiful guitar instrumental ‘Neverstrearn’. Ten original songs, plus a cover of Crouch’s ‘My Tribute’. Nice embroidery cover. Same custom label as Horizon and Manna. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and the track list.
