Hineni! (Hineni H-1001) 1973?
Impressive small folk group composed of members of Jews For Jesus, produced by Lamb’s Rick Coghill. Impossible to sit still while hearing this one: 6 of the album’s 10 tunes are of the up-tempo ‘Hava Nagila’ variety, with piano, guitar, bass, and percussion keeping the beat going. No solos, however: this is a vocal album. Emphasis is on the tight harmonies, giving special beauty to the somber ballads. Quite kosher. Hineni means “here am I”. Several other albums followed, the folk edge replaced by smoother vocals and a more polished orchestrated style. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Discogs for the cover, label photos and track list.
