I Know The Reason Why (Rite 37937) 1975?
Noteworthy amateur recording of home-made stripped-down country rock from four young men, folky for the most part but with electric guitar, organ, and synths (mello-tron?) providing a subtle garage angle. Often a dreamy minor-key mood, enhanced with echoing electric guitar on the title track and ‘Walker Baptist Church’. Harmonica accompaniment on ‘Take Me Down To The River’ and ‘Don’t Wait Tomorrow May Not Come’. Piano and steel guitar give a few fleeting Marshall Tucker impressions on ‘Stand Up And Raise Your Hand’ and ‘The Dream’, the latter inspired by a dream the songwriter had about his son being left behind at the Rapture. All self-composed. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).
