Certain Songs (United Sound USR 7722) 1973?

Vincent Mesi’s name can be found in the vocal credits for albums like Tom Condon’s Wind Off Waters and Leo Nestor’s Sons Of The Morning. If his solo album sounds similar to the latter, it may be due in part to the fact that he covers several of Nestor’s songs, nine of which are from a musical co-written by Nestor called Brother Fever. We’re talking Catholic folk here, a moody kind of sound with soft backing from piano, acoustic guitar, bass and flute. Some very stirring melodies, especially ‘Song Of The Son’, ‘Dawning Call’, ‘The Gift’, ‘Forsake Not A Friend’ and “From Heaven’ (the latter also appears on Nestor’s album). Also a cover of Donovan’s ‘If You Want’. The letters O.F.M. alter Vincent’s name would indicate a Franciscan. Custom album recorded in Portland, Oregon. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and the track list.
