New Circles (Graded Press no #) 1974

Packaged as a youth ministry tool with voluminous instructions on the gate-fold cover detailing just how you can accomplish that, this Methodist project written by Jerry O. Cooke turns out to be a fairly listen-able folk lp. Performed by a small group with three different lead vocalists (two female, one male) the best songs are the half that use guitar, bass, percussion, and flute. The piano-backed ones (usually witty solo tunes or slightly jazzy ‘Take Five’ take-offs) didn’t hold my interest as much. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the inside gate-fold and rear cover photo and the track list.
