Brand New Day (Daybreak DBK-2104) 1976?
La Miranda, California male trio featuring Don Kase (12-string, bass, flute, percussion), John Eastis (drums, percussion) and Steven Hotra (piano, electric piano, acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin). Polished mellow folk and light-rock/MOR stuff that alternates some okay original songwriting with a few Bill Gaither and Lanny Wolfe standards Best cuts are the mandolin-backed ‘Pure Joy Is Jesus’ (recalling the early country-folk sound of the Maranatha label), the ballad ‘True Spirit’ and the Sweet Comfort-ish ‘Just A Better Day’. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and the track list.
