Shout Joyfully (Trinity TSLP-1002) 1974

Uh-oh, what’s a pop and ballads lp doing in here? You rockers can tune out for the next paragraph – as for those of you that don’t mind mellowing out every now and then, attend: New Jerusalem is well above the sappy norm mainly because of good songwriting and moving arrangements with flute and brass complementing the MOR harmonies. The more upbeat songs bring to mind a bit of The Fifth Dimension (albeit a whiter version). Much joy coming out of these grooves. I’d hardly call it cutting edge, but it’s one of the few examples of this style that actually gets airplay in my den. Keyboardist Doug Howell has some solo lp’s on the same label. Outstanding cover.    (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album yet.  Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and the track list.
