He’s Alive! (NFS 1006) 1979?

An inconsistent album that goes back and forth between folk and contemporary gospel. Some of the small-group acoustic songs are commendable, such as ‘He’s Alive’ (male duo), the guy/gal duet cover of Godspell’s ‘By My Side’ or the exceptionally beautiful opening female solo ‘Isaiah 35’. Also standard group strums through ‘Thinking Back’, ‘When We All Come Together’ and John Fischer’s ‘The Lord’s Prayer’. The rest of the record is piano-backed stuff, some with all fifteen members, others as solos or duets (the two girls doing Scott Wesley Brown’s ‘I Wish You Jesus’ is kind of pretty). Custom record from students at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. Comes in that generic sun-behind-the-mountains cover. (The Archivist, 4th Edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album to date.  Thank you Donald for the rear cover album and the track list.
