One Under The Sun (Compassion no #) 1972
Female singer whose acoustic album is often stark, moody and solemn, sometimes with a mournful Hebrew tone. That along with some simple upbeat folk tunes. Usually Tina and acoustic guitar, to which may be added dreamy flute, bass, percussion ‘and distant female backup singers, plus instances of piano and trumpet. One of the guitarist is Steve Gamble of Gamble Folk. Ten songs, all written by Tina, including ‘Walking In The Land Of Love’, ‘I’m Free As The Wind’, ‘Walk In The Spirit’, ‘Jesus My Love’ and ‘Exodus 15:2′, the latter sung in Hebrew. Says on the back she was on heroin for thirteen years, living a life of’ prisons, hospitals and gutters’. Reminds me a little of Sarah Hershberg. Custom label from St. Paul, Minnesota. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and the track list.
