I Believe (Praise PRS 218) 1975? Canada *

Glancing over the song titles by artists like Lennon-McCartney, Crosby Stills, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and George Harrison, one might assume that Restoration is your basic cover band As it turns out, most of the songs have had their lyrics changed in order to make them Christian. If you can get over that hump, then some decent home-made electric pop-rock/folk-rock sounds await you, as bubbly male/female vocals are applied to reworked versions of ‘Two Of Us’, ‘Know He Loves You’ (i.e., ‘Teach Your Children’), ‘If Not For You’, ‘Both Sides Now’ and ‘I Believe’. Benefits from a bit of flower-power keyboards (harpsichord, organ, synthesizer) and a few frilly electric guitar licks scattered here and there. Other songs include ‘Isaiah 43’, ‘I Can’t Explain’ (the album’s only original song), ‘Decision’ and ‘Pass It On’ (with a marimba island twist ala ‘Margarita-ville’). Even a modest one-minute drum solo on the closing ‘My Sweet Lord’. A six-person outfit from Richland, Washington. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and the song list.
