The Real Thing (BRC 4170) 1970?
I’m assuming this is an earlier version of the same group since they have the same engineer (Art Boyd). Their music was more primitive and traditional at this point, especially the piano and a cappella selections. Also a couple songs with brass. Still some basic but listen-able strumming ‘60s guitar folk such as ‘Long Road To Freedom’, ‘Spiritual Medley’, ‘A Better Life’ and ‘You Call Tell The World About This’. Nice acoustic mood with just the girls on ‘Wonderful And Marvelous’. I also can’t help but dig their attempt at Mercy’s ‘Love Can Make You Happy’. Neat primitive cover – note that their attire was more conservative as well (suits for the guys, matching dresses for the girls). Identified on the back as college students at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and the song list.
