Down Home, Birmingham (Open Hearth SRS-1059) 1979

don-faith-down-home-birmingham

Good country rockin’ wife and cowboy-hatted hub with a down-home brew that echoes the style of Mike and Kathy Deasy. Don handles acoustic guitars while Faith strums away on classical. Steel and slide guitar are well represented, with Nori Kelley on the latter(he’s got a fine solo lp from around the same time). Titles include ‘Break Loose’, ‘Open Hearth’, ‘Tavern Song’, ‘A Place Called Heaven’, ‘Lord Of My Life’, five others, all written by the duo. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
