The Work’s Already Done (Alive AR 4794) 1983

Well-produced six-person male/female rock private press with a style that could just as easily have been heard in 1978. ‘Master, Savior, Jesus’, ‘Voices’, ‘Talkin’ About His Love’ and the title out are all strong energetic rock statements filled with rousing electric guitar leads and Jesus-centered lyrics. Same goes for the fast-paced ‘Born Again Boogie’ which incorporates a verse from Honeytree’s ‘Rattle Me Shake Me’ right in the middle. Ballads like the dreamy sax-backed ‘Lion Of Judah’ are handled equally well, while ‘Jesus Has The Key’ provides a pleasant harmonica country folk-rock moment. Synthesizer and piano also play an important role in their sound. Production is neither noticeably homemade not overly polished, but right there in the middle where it ought to be. The band was from Farmville, Virginia. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo.
