An earlier less consistent recording. Titles like ‘God’s Wonderful People’, ‘Lighthouse’ and ‘Jesus Made A Believer Out Of Me’ show their contemporary gospel origins, but there are also some songs in more of a Jesus music style, such as a cover of The Way’s ‘Harvest Time’. Even on the gospel stuff there’s usually a decent home-made electric guitar vibe happening. Horns on a couple tracks, including a medley of ‘Sweet Sweet Song Of Salvation’ and ‘I Believe In Jesus’. As for their future rock direction, you can hear that in ‘Bless The Day’, a moody psychy seven-minute tremolo-filled track that alone justifies seeking out this album. One girl and six guys, a couple of whom look to be in their early teens. Best to ignore the dorky matching outfits. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
