Tribulation (Triumphant 413) 1974
A natural sequel to The Rapture, Tribulation picks up where that drama left off. depicting the subsequent apocalyptic events through news reports, live-on-the-scene broadcasts, interviews with German scientists and evasive senators, etc. The recent disappearance of Christians is explained away as a plot of some kind (possibly by the Communists) and people are soon required to receive a mark of “666” on their hand or forehead. I anticipated those segments, but there were a few that threw me for a loop. Such as the announcement that the moon rocks on display at the Cape Kennedy Space Museum had disappeared, replaced by pools of blood (a rather literal interpretation of Acts 22:20’s statement that the moon will be turned to blood). Or the report about a large seven-headed creature that’s been spotted in the Mediterranean Sea, to which the reporter laughs and quips, “well if two heads are better than one!” By the way, did you know that the Beast gets his start by winning impressive chess matches? Closes with a Bible reading and a lady singing a traditional organ-backed hymn. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo.
