Help Somebody Today (Chapel S5208) 1973

Appealing traditional folk lp which in addition to acoustic guitar makes use of such instruments as dulcimer, auto-harp, recorder, kalimba, balalaika and Tanbury drums. I think I also hear a clarinet in there. Song selection is a mix of traditionals, folk hymns, Irish melodies and originals, including ‘What A Friend We Have In Jesus’, ‘The Ballad Of Jesus Christ’, ‘Saw Ye My Saviour?’ and ‘Be Thou My Vision’. Simple and down-to-earth, with no additives, led by Ruth’s rich multi-range voice. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album yet.  Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo.
