Don’t You Wanna Know Him? (COM Mission Publications CMP- 2420) 1976
Home-made melodic soft rock with pop and jazz edges. I didn’t hang on to my initial copy, but upon finding a second one year later I found some likable tracks (it’s the mellowing-out-in-my-old-age syndrome). Smooth easygoing tunes simply arranged with acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums and female bgvs, plus a strong keyboard presence (synthesizer, synth strings, electric piano). ‘Train Song’, ‘Out On A Limb’ and ‘Muddy Shoes (Spiritual Blues)’ were some of the songs that stood out to me. Also liked the laid-back easy soft-jazz grooves that gently carry ‘Love Of Jesus’ and ‘Unity’. Wally on lead vocals and guitar, assisted by others. He’s from Harrisonburg, Virginia. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and track list.
