With Clouds (Milk & Honey MH 1003) 1976
Now this is more like it. Three songs stand out in particular. The near seven minute ‘Cornucopiae’ rocks out with a heavy climax that packs a fairly intense wallop, while the equally lengthy ‘Thomas Song’ shifts from slow blues rock to a dreamy phased-vocal mid-section to jammjn’ rock. ‘Who Was The One’ also has significant rock muscle. A few other unsullied goodies in here as well. Includes covers of Ken Medema (‘Lord, Listen To Your Children’) and Bill Gaither (‘I Just Came To Praise The Lord’). String orchestration is kept to a minimum. The mellow stuff still doesn’t grab me but there oughta be sufficient meat here to satisfy the rocker’s appetite. Now they’re showing a Dayton, Ohio address. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet.
