Warfare (Sonrise LP1178) 1978?

Saved By Grace-Warfare-front

Stylistically diverse New Jersey custom with several winners in the soulful rock and rural heartland rock categories Five guys, one girl, lots of organ poured on, plus piano, guitars, bass and drums. Lead electric guitar is provided by Martin Bass, later of Bass & Co. with a couple albums in the ‘80s. Good home-made rock vibes with a hint of The Band here, a touch of Andrae Crouch there. One pure r&b tune, black gospel influence on another, an acoustic track, but the more rock-oriented songs are the best, particularly ‘Throne Of The Lamb’, ‘Kingdom Of God’, ‘Forgiven’, ‘Just Relaying’, ‘So Glad’ and the somber electric ballad ‘Facts And Feeling’. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
