Signs Of The Time

Crude happy electric folk/pop/rock custom from ten-person youth outfit. The cheap quirky electronic keyboards, occasional horns and semi-smooth guy/gal harmonies tend to put a contemporary gospel veneer over much of their music, not to mention the song choices (Crouch, Skillings, Salsbury, Wyrtzen). Still a welcome sincerity within several songs, like the fragile female vocals on ‘Source Of Love’. The periodic electric guitar helps, too. In fact ‘I Don’t Know Why’ even has a cheesy fuzz guitar riff running the course of the song. College-age folks from Bethel Temple in Dallas, Texas. Album cover is designed to resemble a sheet of yellow lined notebook paper. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
