“If you want a fusion of folk and pop — then the Settlers are the ones to listen to!” So says Cliff Richard on the back cover of Lightning Tree. Not quite as much Christian content here, but still just as dynamic and appealing, even with the string orchestration. On the highly collected York label, also home to lead singer Cindy’s fine solo album I Am Your Servant. She sure pours her heart into the intro to ‘Martin Luther King’s Drearn’. Cover states “from Yorkshire Television’s Award Winning series Follyfoot.” Covers of ‘Streets Of London’, ‘The World Of Thursday Morning’, ‘Help Me Make It Through The Night’, ‘Snowbird’, ‘Hear Now’ and ‘Through The Eyes Of Love’, plus a number of originals. They have other non-religious lps. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).

There are 2 versions of this album a 12 song version on the York label released in 1972 and  14 song version released in 1974 on the Decca label.     diakoneo
