I Am Going (Stucky’s SRS-l4574) 1974

Shelly, Patty - I Am Going

Respectable acoustic custom from Kansas Mennonite female folk-singer. She’s got a likeable coffee house folk-singer voice that’s backed by a simple, natural mix of acoustic guitar, flute and bass. Mostly original songs written or co-written by Patty, including ‘Unto Us A Child Is Born’, ‘Highway Of Clouds’, ‘Joy Wasn’t In Me Today’, ‘Woman Alone’ and ‘The Light Shines In The Darkness’. Also covers of ‘I Come And Stand At Every Door’ (a chilling poem about World War II) and ‘This Little Light Of Mine’. Should appeal to those who like Barbie Sipple, Marj Snyder and Linda Rich. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
