Loner / All Right (Clementswood CC127) 1969 UK *
One of those early British male beat/rock things crudely constructed with electric guitar, electric bass and drums. ‘Loner’ has a slow 6/8 bluesy vibe highlighted by generous portions of gleeful distorted electric guitar soloing, while ‘All Right’ primitiver strolls along in mid-‘60s British Invasion pop fashion. A bit late to the party, but fits right in there with your Crossbeats, Chordials, etc I recall reading in a catalog somewhere that Clementswood was a precursor to the Profile label. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet.
