Little Lisa Sings (Studio 1 SLP-002) 1973?
Adorable home-made record featuring an expressive off-key seven-year old girl doing one side of Christian songs and one side of Top 40 hits. Hear Lisa stumble along through familiar spiritual titles like ‘Why Me’, ‘He Touched Me’, ‘Had It Not Been’ and ‘Put Your Hand In The Hand’. Actually the secular side is the best. An adult band provides a tight country-rock beat through renderings of ‘Proud Mary’ (unbelievable!), ‘Let Me Be There’, ‘Take Me Home Country Roads’, ‘Paper Roses’ and ‘Delta Dawn’, each of which is worth its weight in gold. She doesn’t look all that happy on the b&w cover photo – more like she’s just been told to go to her room. Produced by Carol and Bob Lovell whom I’m guessing are the proud mom and dad. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet.
