Although frequently christened with “incredibly strange” status, Christmas 2001 is actually a fairly normal kids album, even if it does involve an “imaginary interplanetary trip” and outer space themes. Oh well — at least there’s a semi-interesting robot on board named CD2. The appeal more likely comes by way of the spiffy spaceship cover and futuristic graphics. Includes a blurb on the back by Apollo 15 lunar module pilot Jim Irwin. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
