Not your average looking bunch – three dudes in checkered shirts, a gal on drums, and a lady in a white robe with her hair in a bun on lead vocals. There are a few bands out there with this name but it’s unlikely you’ve heard of this Indiana one and their very obscure 1p (actually their second). Had no idea what to expect when I put it on. Well, the biggest surprise was the couple cuts where a massive onslaught of fuzz guitar was deemed appropriate: ‘Lord Don’t Move That Mountain’ and ‘We Are One In The Spirit’. The organ is often set on overkill for tunes like ‘Our Nation’ which uses a swinging rock ‘Battle Hymn’ motif. One nice folky tune. Still kind of gospelly and even MOR in parts, so not quite the biggie it could have been, but still pretty doggone cool on the whole. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
