Paradise Of Promise (Sacred LP-73052) 1968?
A very different kind of album from the above. Bob’s guitar is still the feature attraction, but in place of organ we have sweeping cinematic strings and velvety sighing female harmonies. A few instrumentals, but most tracks with vocals this time, including some guy with a Bing Crosby kind of croon on a couple songs. A lush elevator-esque splendor washes over the whole affair, leaving the listener feeling like they’ve been smothered in honey. Ralph Carmichael involved. Cover photo shows Bud leaning against a boat, playing a ukulele, wearing a lei and Hawaiian shirt. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo.
