Something Borrowed Something New (Noteworthy 312) 1978?
Better than average folk 1p of the melodic Catholic variety. Simple peaceful home-made sound, each song built around a moody blend of acoustic guitar, flute, electric piano and electric bass. Lead vocals by Mike Hay, plus three background singers. Original songs include the opening ‘Come To Me’, the beautiful ballad ‘How Lovely Is Your Dwelling’, ‘Hail Mary’ and ‘Big, Big Brother’ (reverbed vocals on the latter). Also covers of ‘Jesus Is The Answer’, ‘How Can I Keep From Singing’, ‘Amazing Grace’ and a couple more instrumentals: ‘Holy God’ and Bach’s ‘Air For The G String’. Recorded in South Bend, Indiana (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and track list.
