Soul Revolution

Custom pressing of primitive ‘60s solo, duo and trio folk sounds from Australia featuring acoustic versions of ‘You Can Tell The World’, ‘Can It Be True’, ‘God Of Concrete’, ‘Father Forgive’, ‘Pack Up Your Sorrows’, ‘Most Peculiar Man’, ‘Joy Is Like The Rain’, ‘I Found The Answer’, etc. The songs are performed by various guy/gal combinations of the youth group at Carlingford Baptist Church – they’re identified on the back cover as “The 5 In One”, “Russell, John & Roslyn”, “Elizabeth & David”, “Dianne, Chris & Carolyn”, “Judy, Lynn & Sue” and on and on over fourteen songs. Most of the cuts are accompanied solely by acoustic guitar and possess a crude simple home-made charm. The coolest tracks get both guitar and organ, and a couple even have Hawaiian guitar. Also three hymns with just organ backing that are not as interesting. Groovy purple psychedelic swirl design gracing the front cover. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
