Souled On Him (EMI custom AST501 / Bridge S2232) 1972?
Studio production featuring three mellow male/female Australian groups described as “gospel folk”. Commission is the biggest with eleven singers and four musicians. They churn out a fairly ooey-gooey easy listening fluff fest that includes three elevator muzak instrumentals With their smooth guy/gal harmonies, the four-member Ramblin’ Strings land somewhere between Ralph Carmichael and The New Folk. Derakas (also with four members) is the best of the lot with a simpler more natural harmonized folk style. Recorded in Australia, released on US label. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the front and rear photos of the EMI label album.
