Sounds Of Joy (SF Custom SJ151) 1974?
I’m not entirely sure this is the same group as the above (there’s little in the way of credits on either 1p), but it sure sounds like them. Same brassy pop-rock format where horns, string orchestration and smooth male vocals run the show, abetted by piano, organ, acoustic guitar, bass, drums, some electric guitar leads. They do manage to cross over into heavy rock for the essential track ‘Freedom’ where the organ, bass and electric guitar all catch fire. ‘Come Along’ lays back on the additives to offer a graceful acoustic vibe. Includes a cover of ‘He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother’. Seven guys pictured on the front cover. Lists a Hot Springs, Arkansas address for booking. Custom Oklahoma label. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet.
