Woody Woodchuck Sings Bible Stories (Word K—738) 1977
Floyd Robinson’s Woody Woodchuck basically sounds like a raspy version of Charlie The Hamster. Perhaps Floyd had studio time booked for the latest Charlie installment, but when the date rolled around he had a throat infection? Anyhow, here we go again: ‘Oh, Happy Days’, ‘I Never Cease To Be Amazed’, ‘See Ya Sunday Morning’, ‘Where God Guides’, ‘Give God A Chance’, etc. Best song is the closing ‘Hallelujah Strings’, a bouncy instrumental moog/jew’s—harp track punctuated with counting, silly laughs and hallelujahs from Woody. Overall not quite as fun and unique as some of Floyd’s other creations, but still sufficiently entertaining for the Floyd-enlightened listener. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
