Forgiveness (Care V1402) 1979

Visions - Forgiveness

A less consistent but still semi-workable round of jazzy funk—edged light rock, sometimes upgraded with brass components as on the disco-propelled ‘Eternity’. A couple songs momentarily threaten to carve out a late-‘70s Steely Dan—ish groove, but they usually end up in the MOR bracket. The ballads can also tend towards the loungy. The opening ‘Born Again’ has a few artsy synthesizer flourishes, coming across like a poor man’s Styx. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
