Vision/Revelation (Earth Sound ESP 180-01) 1980?
Vision and Revelation are two groups from the First Presbyterian Church of Covina, California, each getting one side on their custom record. Revelation is the smaller outfit at thirteen members. They’re described as a “contemporary-rock group” as they do serviceable versions of Jesus music songs, including covers of Danniebelle (‘I’m Going Through’), Randy Stonehill (‘King Of Hearts’), Anne Herring (‘Fall In Love/Change’) and Keith Green (‘He’ll Take Care Of The Rest’). Seals & Crofts’ ‘King Of Nothing’ is in there, too. A light rock sound basically, with piano, guitars, synthesizer, organ, bass and drums. At forty members, Vision has too many people to capture my interest for their contemporary gospel covers of Jimmy Owens songs. Directed by Bill Boocock. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and the track list.
