Midnight Fire (Tunesmith TS6006) 1980? Canada *
When I first saw the cover of Midnight Fire I thought maybe the hard-rockin’ Tunesmith label had goofedl Look at this guy: clean-cut, dressed-to-the-tee, that benign fireside pose – jeepers, it looked like a Dino album! Ah but look close – there’s an earring in that ear. A lot heavier than Oasis, Midnight Fire is good crank-it-up commercial rock balanced with acoustic ballads and light pop. Waller does most all the guitars, bumin’ up on tracks like ‘Lady Of The Night’, ‘Mum N The Kids’ and ‘Morning Star’. Produced by Jon Linn with folks like Richard Souther, Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, Terry Clark and Chuck Girard joining in on the fun. A few of these songs later appeared on the first Avion lp. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you George for the front and rear cover photos.
